| Mr Henry Vernon Crock AO MD MS FRCS FRACS FRCS Ed(Hon) Hon DSc Univ Melbourne 2009 President Harry was Chairman of DISCS since its inception in 1992 until he moved to Australia in 2002. Acknowledged as one of the world’s greatest spinal surgeons, Harry spent fifty years in practice and is the leading authority on vascular anatomy of the human skeleton. As researcher, author, surgeon and teacher he pioneered the investigation of the vascular system of the spine and illustrated its importance to the health of the intervertebral disc. His books and teaching films have become required material for surgeons in training. In 1984 he was awarded the Order of Australia for Services to Medicine. He has retired from surgery and lives with his wife in Australia. He dedicates his time to the furtherance of DISCS mission to reduce human suffering through the commissioning and funding of fundamental research into intervertebral disc degeneration. |
